We sponsored the 2019 Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) Forum to advance young women into leadership roles across the sustainability sector.

About

The WiSER Forum focused discussions on “The Role of Women in Advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. Key decision-makers, innovators, influencers, and young women explored how women can take a major role through education, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance and policy, and culture-changing behaviour to advance the UN SDGs.


As an impact-focused platform, WiSER promotes new thinking, viable solutions, and lasting collaboration to empower present and future generations of female sustainability leaders. During the year-long partnership, NAMA and WiSER collaborated on several programmes designed to position women and girls of all nationalities as drivers of change and innovation, and to empower present and future generations of female sustainability leaders.

Aim

  • A key outcome of the roundtable discussions was a white paper that inspired the debut of the year-long WiSER Pioneers’ Programme (WPP), a partnership between NAMA and WiSER to advance the next generation of women leaders across the sustainability sector.


  • The partnership for Wiser Pioneer Programme was aimed at giving young women a platform to voice their opinions while equipping them with valuable leadership, networking, and communication skills to enrich their professional development.
