A virtual high-level private roundtable that brought together female leaders from different fields to share best practices and stories about overcoming gender-specific structural and cultural barriers.
Discussions centered on global best practices in girls’ education, economic empowerment, and girls’ rights in the region. This session addressed the impact of education on the lives of girls within marginalized communities, how it can improve their opportunities, and what must be done to make it a priority in these regions.
The virtual roundtable also delved into the need to create support systems for girls in marginalized communities to enable them to achieve their true potential. Participants stressed the importance of having women on boards and as decision-makers across different ecosystems and highlighted the role of the philanthropic sector in driving positive change within the MENA region.
